CCCChanges

Since my last post, there have been a lot of changes. Jeffrey, the kid with the sore elbow never could get it rehabbed, so he went home to be replaced by Nick, an infielder from Fresno state who is only 19.  He was a redshirt freshman last year so really hasn’t played too much. The team has had a long losing streak, finally breaking it last night in Walla Walla.  We were actually in WW for a wedding, so had a chance to see them play a few innings.  Long road trip. Before we left on Thursday morning, Jonny, who is only wearing shorts, calls to me “there is a spider in the bathroom, a big one!”  There he is all 6’2” of him pointing out the spider to me.  I said, “You are wearing shoes, just whack it and flush it down the drain”. Tonight, we had chicken enchiladas.  Mike looked longingly at Jonny’s plate.  “That chicken looks good”.  Turns out he likes his food plain - no sauce on anything, cheese pizza, etc.  I told him to dissect out the ch...

Season Begins

A very different year.  The pitchers are not as engaging as the position players and they really keep to themselves.  Jeffrey is still not playing.  Jonny has a rocket for an arm and has pitched some excellent innings in relief.  Poor Michael, he has his girlfriend and family visiting this weekend and didn’t play.  Since both of our active players are pitching relief, its hard to stay and watch them. The team is doing very well.  Regular season 4 -2, overall7-3.  The crowds are pretty small compared to other years, and because I don’t have position players, I really don’t know too many of the kids yet.  Today was Bark at the Park and Watson and I lasted 5 innings.  He was a very good boy.  Only goosed one lady.
