Second Half of the Season
I forgot to post a great thing that happened last week. Brandon, one of the guys we had 2 years ago contacted me. He was playing for the visiting team. So we took him out to breakfast and caught up. He just graduated from Pacific University in Forest Grove OR with a 3.95 GPA in Spanish. He is interviewing for a job in Beaverton teaching HS Spanish. So proud of him! He is a great guy.
When I got home Monday night, our living room was a sprawl of arms and legs. The guys had the day off and were watching the Home Run Derby wearing tanks and shorts. Really, nothing but long arms and long legs.
They were on the road for 3 nights this week. Poor Steven got shelled in his second turn as a starting pitcher. He was doing so well, but these guys had his number and scored 6 runs on him in 4 innings. Javy continues to do well both offensively and defensively. He's the guy you can count on. Jack has an ear infection that I called in a script for. Hope he starts feeling better. Kind of working on a cold and now the ear.
The team has asked me to be the trainer again as their trainer quit. It won't be for too many games as I have some other commitments this week. They have a 9 game home stretch, then on the road for 9, then 6 at home to wrap up the season. I know I will miss this crew as I have all the rest. Baseball players have my heart.
