S'Mores
We had another fire in the solo stove last night and of course that means s'mores. They are all perfecting their marshmallow roasting skills. It amazes me that these high tech kids really enjoy sitting around the fire, shooting the breeze. Definitely fun.
The big obsession is now hair cuts. Javy's dad already has him going to a barber on Saturday as soon as he gets home. Jack is going to keep letting his hair grow. And Steven's is getting pretty wild. His mom will definitely make him get it cut before he starts school.
There is always end of the season drama, brought on by the coach/owner. He has a tendency to treat the kids without respect. Of course there are 2 sides to each story, but this is not new. Of all people, Javy, who is so quiet, got into it with the coach this past week and he was made to sit the bench for 2 games. Since he is the most consistent player, it seems a little weird. Oh well, only 3 more days to go.
Steven will probably pitch the last game, although last night he was musing about playing short stop. The other 2 told him pitchers are not good enough athletes to do that. Steven insists he is too an athlete. He has so many funny saying, I wish I could remember them all. Last night he said he really wouldn't like his 14 year old self. (we were talking about middle schoolers and how obnoxious they can be).
Every year, I wonder how the current crew can have my heart as much as the last year, but these guys have done it again. I love ALL my Lefties. They make summer so much more fun.
